2004 CMA Turkey Run
2004 CMA Turkey Run

I want to thank the C.M.A. for a great ride today and I’ll even give them credit for the great weather.  While we didn’t always follow their lead I did enjoy seeing our friends Bob and Susie & Larry and Betty again.  I also enjoyed meeting some of their other members.

I consider today a banner day for our chapter.  I saw more of our members in one day [except for the dinner meeting] than any other ride.  The members that met up at Lowe’s were myself, Dave, Allan, Gary, and Bruce who joined us for his first chapter ride.  We were also joined by Mac, the First Officer from Florence .  When we got to Extreme Sports for the start of the ride we our member Bob Flury (also a C.M.A. member) was going to lead us on our ride.  At the end of the route at Honda I got to meet Bruce’s wife Carol and Allen Gill who works at Honda (both members).

We had a good ride.  The C.M.A. route was 94 miles around Sumter , but we didn’t always stick to the route.  We wound up doing about 89 miles.  At the end, Allan and Mac were tied for second and had to draw to see who would wind up on top.  Allan drew higher and walked away with some Turkey drumsticks and Mac had to settle for some sausage links.  Dave got third and a small can of Turkey .

Thanks to all those that came out to support this event.
