These are the rides we've done as a club.  The five criteria for an official chapter ride is:

1) Organized via club channels (e-mail sent by an officer)
2) Originated in Sumter
3) Common meeting time and place sent to all members (24 hours prior to ride start time)
4) Held on a weekend or holiday that people commonly do not have to work
    ***Exception: Overnight rides planned at least 30 days in advance
5) At least two riding members (two motorcycles)
    ***Exception: Mileage to and from (and during) an official SCRC Rally

 

2010 Rides (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec)

January 1st
Where: Greenville, SC (some members went up the night before and stayed in Greenville)
Why: 2010 - 6th Annual South Carolina Polar Bear Ride/Gathering
Round Trip Distance:  Averaged about 350 miles for riders           
 

January 3rd
Where: McBee, SC
Why: Headed up to McLeod Farms
Round Trip Distance:  127 miles           
 

January 9th
Where: Greenville, SC
Why: Attend the Greenville Motorcycle Show and ate at California Dreamin
Round Trip Distance:  The "ride" was cancelled, but some member carpooled up         
 

January 16th
Where: Lancaster, SC
Why: Rode up for some lunch at "The Kickstand"
Round Trip Distance:  135 miles         
 

January 23rd (Long Ride)
Where: Charlotte, NC
Why: Check out the Easy Rider Bike Show
Round Trip Distance:  229 miles         
 

January 23rd (Short Ride)
Where: Columbia, SC
Why: Eat some lunch at The Village Idiot Pizza (at Five Points)
Round Trip Distance:  95 miles         
 

January 31st
Where: McBee, SC
Why: Visit one of our favorites on a Sunday afternoon...McLeod Farms
Round Trip Distance:  114 miles         
 

February 6th
Where: Columbia/Lexington, SC
Why: Had lunch at Little Pigs BBQ, visited the World's Largest Fire Hydrant, and stopped at the Barnyard Flea Market
Round Trip Distance:  129 miles         
 

February 14th
Where: Lexington, SC
Why: Quick trip to the Barnyard Flea Market
Round Trip Distance:  92 miles         
 

February 20th
Where: Scranton, SC
Why: Rode with some other clubs to the Schoolhouse BBQ (helped raise $1,500 for local youth group)
Round Trip Distance:  139 miles         
 

February 21th
Where: Columbia, SC
Why: Headed up for a stop at Thunder Tower Harley Davidson
Round Trip Distance:  85 miles         
 

February 27th
Where: McBee, SC
Why: Nice ride to McLeod Farms
Round Trip Distance:  129 miles         
 

March 6th
Where: Lake Wateree - had lunch at The Kickstand in Lancaster
Why: Rode to Wateree with other clubs to remember fallen member - Justin Blacklidge
Round Trip Distance:  175 miles         
 

March 7th
Where: Columbia, SC
Why: Enjoyed some Dunkin Donuts and some members rode to the Barnyard Fleamarket
Round Trip Distance:  100 miles         
 

March 13th
Where: Elgin, SC
Why: Had lunch at the Smokehouse BBQ and stopped at Madness Motorcycle Shop for their open house
Round Trip Distance:  100 miles         
 

March 20th
Where: Monroe, NC
Why: Rode to Duke's Grill - joined by some members of the Star Riders
Round Trip Distance:  198 miles         
 

March 27th (Ride 1)
Where: Santee (Lone Star BBQ for lunch), Lakevue Landing, Goat Island, and back to Sumter
Why: Participated in the American Heart Association Poker Run - hosted by Cooper Tools
Round Trip Distance:  151 miles         
 

March 27th (Ride 2)
Where: Batesburg-Leesville, SC
Why: Had lunch at Shealy's BBQ - afterwards stopped at The Barnyard Flea Market
Round Trip Distance:  196 miles         
 

April 2nd
Where: Summerville, SC
Why: Enjoyed some lunch at Breck's Ice House
Round Trip Distance:  175 miles         
 

April 3rd
Where: McBee, SC
Why: Got a snack at McLeod Farms
Round Trip Distance:  120 miles         
 

April 10th
Where: Irmo, SC
Why: Rode to the SC Barbeque Association's Competition
Round Trip Distance:  171 miles         
 

April 11th
Where: Up through Camden to Lancaster - back down the other side of Wateree through Lugoff
Why: Had lunch at The Kickstand...later had a snack at Dutchman Creek Marina
Round Trip Distance:  145 miles         
 

April 17th
Where: Summerville, SC
Why: Lowcountry Chapter's Annual Cookout - multi-chapter gathering
Round Trip Distance:  192 miles         
 

May 1 (Ride 1)
Where: Asheboro, NC
Why: North Carolina SCRC State Rally - a St. Jude Fundraiser
Round Trip Distance:  375 miles         
 

May 1 (Ride 2)
Where: Orangeburg, SC
Why: Visited the 'Moving Wall' (Traveling Vietnam Memorial) and lunch at Antley's BBQ
Round Trip Distance:  130 miles         
 

May 2nd
Where: Summerton, SC
Why: Sunday afternoon Ice Cream Trip - Dairy Queen.  Also visited Taw Caw Creek Park
Round Trip Distance:  100 miles         
 

May 15th
Where: Myrtle Beach, SC
Why: Check out the Spring Rally and had lunch at Max and Erma's
Round Trip Distance:  240 miles         
 

May 22nd
Where: Lancaster, SC
Why: Ate lunch at Buford's Wings.  Some members also went to McLeod Farm in McBee for a snack.
Round Trip Distance:  up to 187 miles         
 

May 29th-31st (Memorial Day Weekend)
Where: Mountains of SC/NC/TN
Why: Stayed at the Two Wheel Inn.  Rode the "Tail of the Dragon" and other great roads.
Round Trip Distance:  822 miles         
 

June 5th
Where: Scranton, SC
Why: Headed over to have lunch at The Schoolhouse BBQ
Round Trip Distance:  97 miles         
 

June 6th
Where: Lexington, SC
Why: Visited the Barnyard Flea Market and stopped at Cycle Gear
Round Trip Distance:  116 miles         
 

June 12th
Where: Lexington/Columbia
Why: Had some lunch at Little Pigs BBQ and visited Thunder Tower HD
Round Trip Distance:  100 miles
